I’ll be premiering two new pieces of mine with The Hurd Ensemble on Jan 27 during a FREE concert at the Community Music Center in SF. It’s our first San Francisco show since releasing Navigation Without Numbers, and we’ll be premiering two exciting, extremely different new pieces of mine, Saint Claire – a wildly percussive world-premiere based on my being rescued at sea by a wandering, old sailor and the life-affirming effects of being so close to death – and the SF-premiere of Grace, a shimmering, time-stretching piece co-composed with Joel St. Julien and based on trying to achieve a life of simplicity and peace.
